I weighed the babies yesterday, just as a matter of interest. They were eight weeks old on Thursday and the boys especially are getting really big. The girls aren’t growing nearly as much, i’m hoping this is normal. So, at 8 weeks, 1 day, fatty ratties weigh:

I am pleased to say Tinkerbell and Sugar both came round fine from their spay and seem to be doing fine. They were eating and drinking as soon as they got home and were even cuddled up together!

The babies are growing up so quick. They are rats but in miniature and completely mental. I am amazed constantly at how fast they whizz about everywhere and every so often all of them go nuts all at the same time and race around and chase and jump on each other - it’s brilliant.

I feel like a horrible person today - the baby rats have been removed from Sugar and split into boys and girls. I know they’re old enough and it needs to be done to prevent more rats needing homes, but I just keep thinking of those baby boys that can never play with their sisters [...]
