Rat show judging

June 26, 2007

I asked on the fancy rats forum today about the terms I was unsure of and I think I understand now.

One of the things was a ‘tail stop’. This is relevant to marked varieties that should have white on their tales. The tail stop is the demarcation line.

In the show results were results of the varieties classes and also an adult challenge, supreme challenge and kitten challenge. From what i understand the challenges is a competition between the best rats from the varieties classes.

The other thing I was confused about was BOA. It means Best Opposite Age, which means if the rat that wins Best In Show is an Adult, the BOA will be a kitten and vice versa.
